If you are ever looking for a night out away from the crowds of London then Hertfordshire is definitely a place you need to visit. There is such a variety of different types of restaurants in Hertfordshire, whatever you fancy Hertfordshire has it. One of my favorites being Bar Meze, a tapas restaurant situated in Hitchin, which in itself is a beautiful old town rich in history. Bar Meze offers different size course meals with varying prices and dishes. Last time I went the fish course included a beautiful piece of swordfish, and although I am not a fan of sea food it was lovely! The courses only look like a small amount when they arrive but they definitely leave you feeling full. It makes a lovely change from eating at chain restaurants, and if fresh, Mediterranean, colourful food is something that gets your taste buds watering you then Bar Meze definitely the place to visit. Hitchin is such an easy destination to reach from London, and is a stopping place for the fast train from Kings Cross to Cambridge, its quick and easy to get to and well worth a visit!

If a quiet drink out is what you are looking for than the huge array of pubs and bars in Hertfordshire will definitely cater for whatever you want. There is always an amazing atmosphere in the places I have visited across the whole of Hertfordshire. The Blackbirds in Hertford offers a relaxed ambiance and attracts every different type of person you can imagine, so everyone just chills out and gets on with their friends without there being any kind of intense or bad atmosphere. From Thursday to Saturday there is DJs on which always attracts lots of people. Throughout the week they have offers on cocktails so if you’re stuck for something to do on a Tuesday night then get the girls together and head down there for some cocktails! If you are looking for something a little quieter than the Blackbirds, then Hertfordshire has loads of lovely little country pubs tucked away in little villages. Surrounded by picturesque views and lovely countryside, many offer excellent home made food and a really relaxed atmosphere. They are perfect for ending a countryside walk or bike ride in one of their pub gardens, especially in the summer months.

There are plenty of places to visit if you want some exciting nights out in Hertfordshire. Watford has a huge array of clubs but my favorite has to be Area, with is three different rooms. This includes the ‘Hide’ bar which takes you away from the club atmosphere to a more relaxed bar feel in which VIP booths can be booked for you and your friends if you want to guarantee a seat. If you want a smaller but still energetic venue than the Stonehouse in Hertford would be just right. It has two different areas, the downstairs bar, and the upstairs, which has a dance area, bar and DJ. However they do like their ques in the Stonehouse, you have to que to get in and then que to get upstairs in busy periods, so make sure you get there before 9pm if you don’t fancy that, especially when all of the uni students are home! Hertfordshire still has the usual well known chain clubs like Liquid and Faces if you fancy going somewhere familiar.

Hertford House is a premier evening venue in Hertfordshire, boasting a bar, restaurant, hotel and function rooms.
